The more ive travelled, the more ive realised two things. Firstly, skaters are essentially the same the world over. Secondly, skaters are always down to meet other skaters. Ive met so many amazing people through what many people consider to be a childish fad. This photographic collaboration celebrates these things. I had the good fortune to cross paths with Josh Roberts from Perth, W.A at the start of a recent 7 month trip around Australia. If you are a fan of underground skateboarding you may have heard about Josh for his forward thinking, on point and fucking rad skate videos, the most recent of which was DOMINGO, which is currently making waves far beyond his native Australia. However Josh also takes a great photo, so i was super keen to get him involved in my latest project. The first release on Pole Star Books, Im Not Going To Lie To You celebrates the friendships formed when skaters travel and the bonds formed by the deep love of something that at its core is still very much a misunderstood subculture. Either that or the fact that skaters just love hanging out. The title refers to something i may have said about a certain controversial style of skating that involves a lot of lurking, skating curbs and celebrating style over stairs.
